General Questions:
- Does The I-Sonic work in countries other than the USA?
Every country has regulations regarding radio receivers and we have sought certification only in the United States and Canada.
- Why do I have to pay my state's sales tax when I order I-Sonic on-line? Some other e-commerce sites don't charge sales tax.
Polk Audio has offices and/or employees in virtually every state and therefore is required by law to collect sales tax. E-Commerce sites that do not appear to charge sales tax either have facilities only in tax-free states or only collect tax in the state in which they reside. We think you will find that national companies similar to Polk Audio collect sales tax in every state where they are required by law to do so.
- My I-Sonic is warm to the touch. Is that normal?
Yes. There is a lot of electronic stuff inside an I-Sonic and some heat is generated in the normal course of operation. Heat sinks inside the unit draw heat away from the parts and into the air around the unit to extend the life of the electronic parts.
- I lost my remote. How do I get a new one and how much does it cost?
Call Polk Customer service at 800-377-7655 and they'll be happy to sell you a new one for a mere one million dollars! No not really, we're just trying to scare you into not losing your remote again. It's really only $20.
- How long is the warranty?
One Year parts and labor limited warranty backed by the best (and most humble) Customer Service people in the Consumer Electronics industry.
- I-Sonic has too much bass! How can I turn it down?
We don't really get this question very frequently (OK just once), but it affords us a propaganda opportunity so here goes...In some conditions (like when placed in a nook) I-Sonic can produce a tonal balance that is heavy on the bass. To change either bass or treble, up or down, from the main menu select "Settings," then select either "Bass" or "Treble." Use the +/- buttons to raise or lower the bass or treble to your taste than press "Enter." Play some music on the I-Sonic while you're doing this so you know when you have it set just right.
- What is the frequency response of the I-Sonic?
Amazingly flat and accurate. Tech-heads can view the ground plane on-axis frequency response graph by
